Rank
Rank runs from a common knight to an emperor.
Titles run from a common knight up to an emperor, and the type list includes feudal nobility, clergy, merchants, artisans, and mercenary bands. Early Access focus is feudal nobility. The highest title a character holds puts its heraldry on the banners. Liege links are optional, so a character may stand with no liege, and the vassal side of that link can be empty or crowded.
Domain limit counts points of interest and settlements ruled directly. Vassal limit counts direct vassals. Both are soft caps: going past them penalizes income and standing with vassals, and the numeric caps are not published. Legitimacy runs from minus 100 to 100, illegitimate to rightful, and it can also mark a claimant on a title the character does not hold. Numbers shown beside legitimacy in the vassal summary are stand-in figures, not a published formula. Warscore is built from actions such as raiding caravans, casualties against standing armies, and occupied settlements.
Peace can trade titles, land, or coin, and more peace options are planned after Early Access. The Hundred Years War date, 1337, still matters here because a title you hold at the start of the game may be living in a world where that war has not begun. Between knight and emperor the diary names the ends of the scale and the title types, and it leaves the rungs in between unpublished.
